Pressure Plate: Service and Repair

CAUTION:

Do not clean the clutch disc with solvent.

When installing the clutch disc, do not allow grease from the main drive shaft to contact the clutch disc friction surface.

Inspection and Adjustment 

NOTE: The following procedures are done with the manual transaxle removed.

CLUTCH DISC

Check clutch disc for wear of the facing surface at the rivets as shown.
Wear limit of facing surface to rivet head: 0.3 mm (0.012 inch)

Check the clutch disc for backlash of the spline and runout of the facing as shown.
Maximum backlash of spline (at outer edge of disc) : 0.9 mm (0.035 inch)
Runout limit: 1.0 mm (0.039 inch)
Distance of runout check point (from hub center): 115.0 mm (4.53 inch)
