If the recirculation and fuel filler signal lines are not blocked (i.e. if air passes freely through both lines), complete step 4 below.

4.

Check the fuel tank as follows:

A.

Attach the hand vacuum pump to the fuel filler signal hose that leads to the fuel tank (see Figure 2). If you cannot pull a vacuum (i.e. if air
passes freely through the hose) replace the fuel tank.

Electronic Service Manual and complete FUEL TANK REMOVAL pages FE-6 through FE-8.

B.

Attach the hand vacuum pump to the recirculation line hose that leads to the fuel tank (see Figure 2). If you can pull a vacuum on this hose
(i.e. if the line is clogged or blocked) replace the fuel tank.

5.

Reconnect all hoses and lines.

6.

When all repairs are complete, test by adding fuel to the tank.
