Service Procedure

Determine Wheel Type

Determine the type of wheels the vehicle is currently equipped with.

A.

If the vehicle is equipped with alloy or non-factory steel wheels, the vehicle is NOT part of this campaign. Refer to the Claims Information
section of this bulletin.

B.

If the vehicle is equipped with the factory steel road wheels, proceed with the "Steel Road Wheel Replacement Procedure" below.

Steel Road Wheel Replacement Procedure

Replace all four steel wheels as follows:

CAUTION:

The wheel covers are held on by the wheel nuts.

1.

Raise the vehicle on a hoist.

2.

Remove all four wheel/tire assemblies.

3.

Remove the wheel cover from each wheel.

4.

Use appropriate equipment to:

Install a new valve stem in each new specified steel wheel

Install the existing tires on the new specified steel wheels

^

Balance each tire/wheel assembly

5.

Re-install the wheel cover on each tire/wheel assembly.

6.

Install the tire/wheel assemblies on the vehicle. Tighten the wheel nuts in a cross pattern to 98-117 N-m (10-12 kg-m 73 - 86 ft-lbs).
