Align the tool base on the bell housing and install (finger tight) the existing sensor bolt through the tool base and into the bell housing.

D.

Make sure the notch on the end of the tool is fully engaged in the flex plate ring gear teeth (see Figure 2).

NOTES:

You may have to manually rotate the engine slightly (using a socket on the crankshaft pulley bolt) to align the flex plate ring gear teeth with the
notch in the stopper tool.

To help you know the orientation of the notch (on the tool) a gear tooth alignment reference mark is stamped into the opposite end of the tool
(see Figure 2).

Secure the tool by tightening the sensor bolt (previously installed in Step 4c). See Figure 2.

F.

Tighten the set screw on the tool (see Figure 2).

CAUTION:

Do NOT forget to remove the tool once the service is complete as engine damage may occur.
