Repair:

1.

Remove the previously applied tape. Carefully apply a new strip of masking tape along the entire upper edge of the roof sheet metal above the
windshield molding. This will protect the paint from adhesive (see Figure 1).

2.

Insert a plastic pry tool between the windshield molding and roof sheet metal, beginning at the driver's (left) side of the vehicle (see Figure 1).

3.

Gently pull the molding out and insert the tip of a 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive(TM) applicator tube (3M Part Number 051135-08008) or
equivalent directly behind the pry tool (see Figure 1).

4.

With a smooth motion, move the adhesive applicator tip to apply a thin and even bead of adhesive along the entire upper back surface of the
molding, from the driver's (left) side to the passenger's (right) side.

5.

Allow the molding to fall back into place.

6.

Gently press the molding down against the roof sheet metal.

7.

Clean off any excess adhesive.

8.

Allow the adhesive to "cure" for approximately 30 minutes.

9.

Remove the masking tape.

10.

Road test the vehicle again to verify the noise is gone.
