Prepare the vehicle for delivery back to the dealer.

Operation 3 Repair Perforations In Outer Wheel House Panel

Kits Required: Kits A & C

1.

Remove the fuel filler tube as outlined in Fuel Filler Tube Removal.

2.

In the wheel house, use a sand blaster to remove all corrosion from the wheel house, the seams and around the fuel filler area. Thoroughly clean
the area to remove sand particles and dust.

3.

Spray a thin coat of DuPont aerosol primer (DuPont P/N 215S) on all surfaces where bare metal is exposed. Allow time for primer to dry before
installing patches.

NOTE: 

Check local VOC regulations for applicable products in your area.

Use LORD(R) Chemicals Fusor Rigid Plastic Repair Material (adhesive) P/N 101 and fiber resin matting P/N 706 to patch the perforations.

A.

Cut the patch(s) to the desired size. Cut the patch(s) at least 1-1/2 in. larger than the perforation on all sides. When cutting the patch(s), do
not cut the plastic to the same size. Leave the plastic larger than the patch.

B.

Use the application gun to apply the adhesive to one side of the patch.

C.

Cover this side with the plastic.

D.

Imbed the adhesive in the matting. Make sure the adhesive covers the entire patch.

E.

Turn the patch over and apply the adhesive to the other side.

F.

Cover this side with plastic and imbed the adhesive on the entire patch.

G.

Remove the plastic from one side.

H.

Put the patch in place over the perforated area. Smooth the patch over the surface.

I.

You may use a heat gun to accelerate the curing time.

J.

Once the patch dries, carefully peel the plastic from the patch.

K.

For larger areas you may need to layer patches to ensure good coverage.

IMPORTANT: 

When layering patches, allow the first laver to dry to the point that the plastic peels off easily. You must remove the plastic from the first patch
before layering patches.
