IF YOU CONFIRM:

The customer says the brake pedal feels:

"mushy",

^

"soft"

^

or that the pedal stroke feels too long.

NOTE: 

If the customer reports poor stopping performance this bulletin does not apply.

Refer to ASIST and the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for diagnostic assistance.

ACTION:

1.

Check and adjust the pedal height.

2.

Confirm there are no other brake related incidents. If necessary, refer to NTB00-033b.

Procedure for checking brake pedal free height

1.

Pull down the carpet, fold back the rubber flap on the floor, and measure the height from the metal floor to the top-center of the pedal. See ESM
BR section for details on this.
