2004 TITAN (A60) REAR FINAL DRIVE GEAR OIL SPECIFICATION CHANGE
APPLIED VEHICLE:
All 2004 Titan (A60)
SERVICE INFORMATION:
The rear final drive gear oil specification (for all 2004 Titans) has been changed. The new gear oil is Nissan Synthetic Gear Oil (SAE 75W-140), P/N
999MP-DF100P.
IMPORTANT:
^
Nissan Synthetic Gear Oil (SAE 75W-140) must be used when performing rear final drive repairs paid by Nissan. These include warranty,
service contract, or goodwill repairs.
^
Nissan will not reimburse dealers for rear final drive repairs when Nissan Synthetic Gear Oil (SAE 75W-140) is not used.
Maintenance Interval:
^
If a rear final drive requires the oil be drained for maintenance or repair (customer pay work), Nissan recommends this new gear oil (Nissan
Synthetic Gear Oil SAE 75W-140) be used as the service fill oil.
^
The maintenance requirement for the Nissan Titian used under normal driving conditions is unchanged. However, as indicated in the 2004 ESM
(revision: January 2005 / publication: SM4E-1A60U2), when towing a trailer, using a car top carrier or driving on rough or muddy roads, Nissan
strongly recommends that the rear final drive gear oil be drained and replaced with Nissan Genuine 75W-140 synthetic gear oil every 30,000 miles or
24 months (which ever comes first).

See the Nissan Service and Maintenance Guide located in the portfolio/glovebox, not the owner's manual.
Nissan Rear Final Drive Gear Oil and all Nissan chemicals are ordered through the Direct Ship Chemical Care Product Program.
