KNOCKING NOISE FROM ENGINE AREA

APPLIED VEHICLES:

IF YOU CONFIRM:

A slight knock noise coming from the engine area at idle speed,

NOTE:

This noise may sound like engine "knock".

^

Noise is heard only at idle speed.

^

This noise may be intermittent.

DETERMINE IF:

The noise is coming from the EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve and piping (see steps 1 - 6 in the Service Procedure).

ACTION:

If the noise is coming from this "solenoid valve" and piping:

Install the "solenoid valve" and "service port" listed in the Parts Information.
