Service Procedure

NOTE:

If the welding portion of this procedure will be sublet, perform steps 1 and 2 before sending the vehicle to the sublet facility.

1. Start the engine and make sure the MIL is OFF.

^ If the MIL is on: Perform diagnosis and repair per the Service Manual before proceeding. Repair for MIL issues are not covered by this bulletin.

2. Record the radio station presets.

3. Disconnect both battery cables (negative cable first).

CAUTION:

Make sure BOTH battery cables are disconnected.

4. Remove the spare tire from the vehicle.

5. Put the spare tire in a safe place away from the working area.

6. Disconnect the ABS sensor harness from its 3 mounting points shown in Figure 1.

7. Position the harness away from the torsion tube.
