1. Remove side lids and/or steering wheel audio control switches and ASCD steering switch. Remove hex head bolts. Air bag module can then be

removed.

2. Lift module out of steering wheel, releasing the connectors at the back of the module by pulling out the black lock mechanism.
3. Disconnect driver air bag module connector.
4. Remove lower lid from steering wheel.

CAUTION:
-Always place air bag module with air bag lid surface facing upward.

Do not attempt to disassemble air bag module.

Do not use old bolts after removal; replace with new ones.

Do not insert any foreign objects (screwdriver, etc.) into air bag module connector.

Do not drop or impact air bag module. If any portion is deformed or cracked, replace the module.

Do not expose the air bag module to temperatures exceeding 90 °C (194 °F).

-

Do not allow oil, grease or water to come in contact with the air bag module.

5. Set steering wheel in the neutral position.
