Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
REMOVAL
1.
Remove air cleaner tube resonator assembly.
2.
Remove electrical connector from TP sensor.
3.
Remove TP sensor attaching screws and then remove sensor.
NOTICE: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak it in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.
INSTALLATION
1.
With throttle valve closed, position TP sensor on throttle shaft, then align with screw holes and install attaching screws. If replacing TP sensor,
install new screws that are supplied with TP sensor service package.
2.
Install electrical connector from TP sensor.
3.
Install air cleaner tube resonator assembly.
