Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the hood primary latch release cable from the hood primary and secondary latch.
3. Remove the hood primary and secondary latch bolts.
4. Remove the hood primary and secondary latch.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the hood primary and secondary latch.
2. Install the hood primary and secondary latch bolts.
3. Hand-tighten the primary and secondary latch bolts with the latch in the full up position.
4. Install the hood primary latch release cable to the hood primary latch and the hood secondary latch.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
5. Gently close the hood and press down until the hood is flush with the fenders.
Tighten the primary and secondary latch bolts to 10 N.m (97 lb in).
6. Inspect the alignment of the hood primary latch and the hood secondary latch. Adjust as necessary.
