Sunroof / Moonroof Drain: Removal and Replacement

Sunroof Drain Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the left or right sound insulator panel.
2. Remove the windshield side upper garnish moldings.
3. Remove the sunshades.
4. Remove the sunroof control switch.
5. Remove the sunroof opening trim lace.
6. Remove the headliner panel as required.

7. Disconnect the drain hose (3) connection from the sunroof module (1).
8. Cut through the sealer that is located inside the bottom of the A-pillar in order to loosen the drain hose (3).

Use a stiff rod bent at 90 degrees.

9. Remove the sunroof drain hose (3).

Installation Procedure

1. Route the sunroof front drain hose (1) through the A-pillar and into the drain hole. The drain hose is located near the door hinges.

2. Connect the sunroof front drain hose (3) connection to the sunroof module (1).
3. Apply sealer to the inside bottom of the A-pillar and around the sunroof front drain hose (3).
4. Install the sunroof opening trim lace.
5. Install the sunroof control switch.
6. Install the sunshade.
7. Install the windshield side upper garnish moldings.
8. Install the left or right sound insulator panel.
