Parking Brake Actuator: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel. 
3. Disconnect the rear brake cable at the equalizer (3).

4. Remove the parking brake return spring.
5. Remove the cable retaining clip (1).
6. Remove the cable (2) from the actuator lever.
7. Remove the rear wheel hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Drum Brakes) or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement -

Rear (Disc Brakes).

8. Remove the parking brake bracket (5) from the support plate (4).
9. Remove the parking brake actuator (2).
