Alero L4-144 2.4L DOHC VIN T SFI (2000)
1. Install the thermostat.
2. Install the coolant housing pipe.
3. Install the transaxle-to-engine block brace and secure with the bolts. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.
4. Install the splash shield.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Install the gasket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Install the coolant inlet housing stud to the oil pan.

Tighten the bolt to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the coolant inlet housing bolts through the exhaust manifold.

Tighten the bolt to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
10. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement.
11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System or Exhaust Manifold Replacement (Rear) or Exhaust Manifold Replacement
(Front).
12. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten the bolt to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
13. Inspect the system for leaks.
