Alero L4-144 2.4L DOHC VIN T SFI (2000)
1. Install the oil pan and gasket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Tighten the oil pan bolts as shown in the illustration.

(1) (M8 X 1.25 X 80) 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

(2) (M8 X 1.25 X 22) 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
^
(3) (M6 X 1.00 X 25) 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
^
(4) 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the nut which secures the oil pan to the transmission.
4. Install the radiator outlet pipe.
5. Install the radiator outlet pipes to the oil pan.
6. Install the radiator outlet pipe bolts.
7. Install the brace which supports the transmission to the engine.

Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.) in sequence.
8. Install the A/C compressor bolts. Refer to Compressor Replacement in Heating and Air Conditioning.
9. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
10. Install the right splash shield.
11. Install the right front wheel and tire assembly.
12. Install the flywheel housing dust shield.
13. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
14. Fill the crankcase with oil to the appropriate level. Use recommended oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
15. Lower the vehicle.
16. Lower the engine approximately 3.8 cm (1.5 inch).
17. Install the engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement.
18. Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture.
19. Connect the negative battery cable.
