Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the driver side instrument panel insulator.
2. Disconnect the electrical connection (1) from the stoplamp switch.
3. Remove the stoplamp switch retainer (2). Grasp and turn the retainer 90 degrees counter-clockwise and pull the retainer towards the rear of the

vehicle.

4. Remove stop lamp switch (1).

Installation Procedure 

1. Insert the stoplamp switch (1) into the retainer until the switch body seats on the retainer.
2. Pull the brake pedal upward against the internal pedal stop.
