Wiper Switch: Service and Repair
Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement-On Vehicle
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the knee bolster.
3. Remove the steering wheel.
4. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement (din #
14125814 and Less) or Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement (din # 14125815 and Greater) in Restraint Systems.
5. Remove the steering column trim covers.
6. Remove the wire harness assembly from the wire restraint clips (1).
7. Disconnect the wire connector.
8. Disconnect the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly.
9. Remove the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly in the following manner.

Press on the locking tabs of the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly.
-
Pull the windshield wiper and washer switch assembly out of the switch mounting bracket.
