Oil Pan: Service and Repair

(Figure 1) Oil Pan Torque Sequence

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. For on vehicle service, remove transaxle assembly. Refer to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle / Service and Repair. See: Transmission and

Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair

2. Drain oil, then remove oil pan retaining bolts and the oil pan.
3. Gasket is reusable unless damaged. Do NOT remove gasket from oil pan groove unless replacement is required.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Install a new oil seal if required by starting the seal into the pan groove in both directions.

NOTE:  If replacing the gasket do not expose new gasket to oil before inserting gasket into pan groove, gasket will expand when exposed to oil
and will not stay in pan groove.

2. Position oil pan to crankcase.
3. Oil pan bolts and torque in sequence, (Figure 1), to 10 Nm (89 in lbs).
4. Transaxle assembly.
5. Refill engine oil and check for leaks.
