Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove drive belt from power steering and generator pulleys and set aside.
3. Remove alternator upper retaining bolt.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Remove righthand side splash shield from wheel well.
6. Remove lower center air deflector.
7. Remove rear alternator bracket, then the lower alternator retaining bolt, position alternator aside.
8. Remove exhaust manifold to crossover exhaust pipe bolts.
9. Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.

10. Remove exhaust manifold to cylinder head attaching bolts.
11. Remove exhaust manifold and gasket from cylinder head.
12. Remove oxygen sensor from manifold.
13. Reverse procedure to install, coat oxygen sensor threads with suitable high temperature anti-seize lubricant prior to installation.
