Driver Information Center (DIC) Reads "Date Not Available" or Displays Dashes (-) (Replace HVAC Programmer)

1996 Oldsmobile Aurora - Built Prior to December 8, 1995
Condition
Some owners may comment that the Driver Information Center (DIC) display reads "Date Not Available" on power up if DIC is in date mode. Condition
may occur in both run and ignition power modes. "Date Not Available" remains on DIC display for up to one minute, then proper date is displayed. If
DIC is in Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) mode, dashes (---) will be displayed instead of numerical date.
Correction
If "Date Not Available" clears after one minute, replace the HVAC programmer with new HVAC programmer, P/N 16218973. Refer to Section 1C of
the Service Manual for HVAC Programmer replacement procedure.
If "Date Not Available" message does not clear, refer to Section 8C of the Service Manual for date setting procedure.
