Tighten

Bolts (3) to 15 N-m (11 ft.lbs.).
4.
Spare tire into its storage location.
REAR MOUNTED TIRE CARRIER
Remove or Disconnect (Figure 1)
1.
Spare tire.
2.
Release carrier assembly (10) from striker (9).
3.
Bolts (3) and washers (8).
4.
Carrier assembly from vehicle.
Install or Connect (Figure 1)
1.
Carrier assembly to the vehicle.
2.
Washers (8) and bolts (3).
Tighten

Bolts to 37 N-m (27 ft.lbs.).
3.
Spare tire to the mount.
4.
Carrier assembly to the striker (9).

Use enough force to close the carrier assembly completely to avoid rattles.
