Condenser HVAC: Testing and Inspection

CONDENSER

A condenser may leak or be restricted. A restriction will cause excessive compressor discharge pressure. If a partial restriction is present, ice or frost will
form after the restriction as the refrigerant expands after passing through the restriction.

Air flow restrictions through the condenser or radiator can cause high discharge pressures. During normal condenser operation, the outlet pipe will be
cooler than the inlet pipe.
