Timing Chain: Testing and Inspection

Check camshaft timing chain free play. If the camshaft timing chain can be moved back and forth in excess of 16 mm (0.625 inch) replace the
timing chain.

Inspect the sprockets for chipped teeth and wear. Worn sprockets will wear a new chain.
