Flywheel Holding Tool J 44226-3A Modification or Replacement

With 4.2L Engine (VIN S - RPO LL8)
All Chevrolet, GMC (light duty only) and Oldsmobile dealerships received tool J 44226-3A as part of the essential tool package. This tool may need
modification to the welded area between the socket portion of the tool and the flat bar. Excessive weld in this area may cause the tool to not fully engage
the bolt on the flywheel. If the tool does not fully engage the bolt, it could slip off during use, causing improper torque.
Recommended Action
Inspect tool J 44226-3A in the area shown. Remove excessive weld using a grinder. If a grinder is not available, or you cannot adequately remove the
excess weld, call Kent-Moore Tools at 1-800-GM TOOLS for a free replacement.
