Engine Front Cover: Service and Repair
Removal
Automatic Transmission
Engine Front Cover
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Coolant surge tank.

Drain and recover coolant to the appropriate level.
2. Serpentine drive belt.
CAUTION: To avoid personal injury when rotating the serpentine belt tensioner, use a tight fitting 13 mm wrench that is at least 61 cm
(24") long. This operation can be done using J 37059 or equivalent.
3. Generator and lay it aside.
4. Install J 28467-A or equivalent engine support .

Reinstall the generator through bolt and attach the engine support fixture.
5. Upper cover fasteners.
6. Cover vent hose.
7. Right engine mount and engine lift bracket.
8. Upper engine strut.
9. Raise the vehicle.
10. Right front wheel and tire assembly.

Right lower splash shield.

Crankshaft Pulley. Refer to Pulley, Crankshaft.

Lower cover fasteners.
14
Lower the vehicle.
15
Cover and gaskets.
