DISASSEMBLE
1.
Position strut compressor J-34013 in holding fixture J-3289-20. Use care not to damage spring coating.
2.
Position strut in strut compressor, then compress strut approximately 1/2 of its height. Use care not to bottom spring or damper rod.
3.
Remove nut from strut dampener shaft, then position guide rod J-34013-27 on dampener shaft. Use guide rod J-34013-27 to position dampener
shaft down through bearing cap while compressing coil spring.
4.
Remove components from coil strut unit, Fig. 12.
