CRANKSHAFT FORCE BALANCER

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Oil pan.
2. Retaining Bolts.
3. Balancer assembly.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Rotate engine to bring number 1 or 4 cylinders to Top Dead Center (TDC) (crank counterweights at Bottom Dead Center (BDC).
NOTICE: When installing the balancer, the end of the housing without dowel pins must remain in contact with the block surface. If it loses contact,
gear engagement may be lost and permanent damage to either the crank or balancer gears may result.
2. Balancer onto block with balance weights EXACTLY at BDC (plus or minus one half gear tooth).
3. Balancer bolts.
TIGHTEN

Bolts to 12 Nm (107 lb. in.) in the following sequence: 3-1-2-4.
