1.
Raise hood and remove strut protective cap and three strut to body attaching nuts.
2.
Raise and support vehicle, allowing suspension to hang freely.
3.
Remove wheel and tire, then install modified outer seal protective J-34754.
4.
Remove tie rod end cotter pin and nut, then using tool J-24319-01, disconnect tie rod from strut assembly.
5.
Scribe alignment marks on strut flange, Fig. 10.
6.
Remove strut to steering knuckle attaching bolts, then remove strut from vehicle, Fig. 11. Use care not to damage spring coating.
7.
Reverse procedure to install. Align marks on strut flange and steering knuckle made during removal, then torque bolts to specification.
