Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
Front
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove air cleaner inlet duct, then disconnect spark plug wires at spark plugs. Tag spark plug wires so they can be installed at the same location.
3.
Disconnect exhaust crossover pipe from exhaust manifold.
4.
Remove engine lifting hook.
5.
Remove heat shield from exhaust manifold.
6.
Remove engine oil dipstick and tube.
7.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching studs, then remove exhaust manifold.
8.
Reverse procedure to install.
Rear
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect spark plug wires at spark plugs. Tag spark plug wires so they can be installed in the same locations.
3.
Disconnect electrical connector at oxygen sensor.
4.
Disconnect throttle cables at throttle body, then remove throttle cable bracket.
5.
Disconnect power brake unit vacuum hose at intake manifold.
6.
Disconnect exhaust crossover pipe and exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.
7.
Remove engine lifting hook.
8.
Remove transaxle dipstick and tube.
9.
Remove heat shield from exhaust manifold.
10.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching studs and bolt, then remove exhaust manifold.
11.
Reverse procedure to install.
