REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.

2.

Remove drive belts.

3.

Remove water pump attaching bolts, then remove water pump from cover assembly, Fig. 15.

4.

If installing a new pump use the pulley from the old unit.

INSTALLATION

1.

Apply a 1/8 inch bead of red RTV sealant or equivalent, on the water pump sealing surface.

2.

Coat water pump bolts with RTV sealant to avoid coolant leaks.

3.

While the sealant is still wet, install the pump and torque bolts to 25 ft. lbs.

4.

Install drive belts, then fill cooling system and connect battery ground cable.

5.

Inspect cooling system for leaks.
