Slowly lower hood and observe where the secondary hood latch contacts front end support. Correct contact is shown in Figure 3.

If latch does not contact front end support as shown in Figure 3, it will be necessary to manually align secondary latch. Refer to Part E of
this service procedure.

If secondary latch alignment is correct, proceed to Part F of this service procedure.

Secondary Hood Latch Alignment
IMPORTANT:
If new secondary hood latch requires alignment it must be removed from the hood and aligned (bent) as described in the following
procedure. DO NOT align secondary hood latch by bending while it is attached to the hood.
1.
Visually determine the direction and amount of forward or rearward movement the secondary hood latch arm will require to correctly contact the
center support.
2.
Remove secondary hood latch.
