Some 1985-88 Cutlass Ciera and Firenza wagons may experience a condition where the tailgate will not fully unlock from the remote release.
To repair this condition a new latch assembly incorporating a heavier, stronger spring has been released. Part number 16604546 is available through
GMSPO. Vehicles built after January 1988 will incorporate the new latch assembly.
