Some 1986 Cutlass Ciera station wagons with 2.8L or 3.8L MPFI engines may exhibit a low frequency hum audible at engine idle.
This low frequency hum may be the sound generated by the intank fuel pump and transmitted into the vehicle passenger compartment. Although not
indicative of a malfunctioning fuel pump, this condition may be a cause of dissatisfaction with some vehicle owners.
Elimination of this condition may be achieved by the installation of a new service fuel level sender and pump assembly, part number 25092920, available
from WDDGM.
Refer to the appropriate service manual for proper removal and installation procedures.
