Dear Oldsmobile Owner:
General Motors has determined that certain 1986 Cutlass Ciera models equipped with a 2.8L V-6 engine with Federal emissions and air conditioning
may have been manufactured with an incorrect fast idle solenoid relay assembly which may affect driveability and engine idle and, therefore, may not
comply with exhaust emission standards.
To correct this condition, your dealer will replace the fast idle solenoid relay assembly. This service will be performed at no charge to you.
Instructions for making the correction have been sent to your Oldsmobile dealer. The labor time to perform this service is approximately 10 minutes.
Please ask your dealer if you wish to know how much additional time will be necessary to process your vehicle.
The enclosed Owner Reply Card identifies your vehicle. Presentation of this card to your dealer will assist in making the inspection to your vehicle in the
shortest possible time. If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please let us know by completing the postage paid Owner Reply Card and returning it to
us.

Oldsmobile Division is releasing Campaign 86-E-01 involving certain 1986 Cutlass Ciera models equipped with a 2.8L V-6 engine (VIN Code X) with
Federal emissions and air conditioning. These vehicles may have been manufactured with an incorrect fast idle solenoid relay assembly which may affect
driveability and engine idle and, therefore, may not comply with exhaust emission standards.
To correct this condition on vehicles involved, dealers are to install a new fast idle solenoid relay assembly as described in the Service Procedure Section
of Emission Campaign Bulletin 86-E-01.
If your dealership has vehicles involved in this campaign, you will receive the following: one printout of vehicles in VIN sequence and one printout of
vehicles in alphabetical sequence by owner name.
These printouts contain the complete Vehicle Identification Number and owner name and address data, and are furnished to the involved dealers with the
campaign bulletin. Owner name and address data will enable dealers to follow up with owners involved in this campaign.
These listings may contain owner names and addresses obtained from State Motor Vehicle Registration records. The use of such motor vehicle
registration data for any other purpose is a violation of law in several states. Accordingly, you are urged to limit the use of this listing to the followup
necessary to complete this campaign.
