Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
Right Side (Rear)
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable
2. Air cleaner
3. A.I.R. bracket at exhaust flange
4. Raise vehicle.
5. Exhaust pipe
6. Lower car.
7. Oxygen sensor
8. A.I.R. management hose at valve
9. Exhaust crossover pipe
10. Manifold bolts
11. Exhaust manifold
CLEAN
^ Mating surfaces at cylinder head and manifold.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Manifold into position
Tighten
^ Manifold bolts - 34 Nm (25 ft. lb.)
2. Exhaust crossover pipe
Tighten
^
Bolts to 20-34 Nm (14-25 ft. lb.).
3. Raise vehicle.
4. Exhaust pipe
Tighten
^
Bolts to 20-34 Nm (14-25 ft. lb.)
5. Lower car.
6. A.I.R. management hose.
7. Oxygen sensor.
8. A.I.R. bracket at exhaust flange.
9. Air cleaner.
10. Negative battery cable.
INSPECT
^ For exhaust leaks.
