With engine coolant temperature below 170° F, connect a vacuum gauge to either port and connect a vacuum pump to the remaining port, then apply
vacuum, Fig. 29. The vacuum reading on the gauge should be the same as that applied by the pump. Replace valve if operation is not as specified.
Make same connections as ``Cold Check,'' then with engine coolant temperature above 170° F and vacuum applied, there should be no reading on
vacuum gauge. Replace valve if operation is not as specified.
