Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair

Depressurizing Powermaster III (with ABS)

The Powermaster III must be depressurized prior to performing any service operations.

1.

Turn ignition switch to the Off position, or disconnect negative battery cable.

2.

Firmly apply, then release the brake pedal a minimum of 40 times. A noticeable change in pedal feel (from soft to hard), will occur when
accumulator is completely discharged.

3.

Do not turn ignition switch to the On or Start position after depressurizing Powermaster III, unless instructed by service procedure, or until service
operations have been completed.
