Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Service and Repair
Proportioner Valve, ABS
The proportioner valve is not repairable and must be serviced as a complete assembly. The use of rubber hoses or hydraulic lines other than those
specified may lead to functional problems and major repairs.
1.
Depressurize Powermaster III, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/DEPRESSURIZING POWERMASTER III.
2.
Remove input brake line, then two output brake lines, from proportioner valve assembly. Input brake line has a 12 mm threaded nut and output
brake lines have 10 mm threaded nuts. Plug open lines and fittings to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
3.
Remove proportioner valve assembly.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque tube nuts to 10-15 ft. lbs.
b. Bleed system, Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/POWERMASTER III BLEEDING/PRESSURE BLEEDING or MANUAL
BLEEDING.
