Exhaust Camshaft

Automatic Transmission

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Negative battery cable.
2. Electrical connection from ignition coil and module assembly.

Ignition Coil And Module Assembly

3. Four (4) ignition coil and module assembly to camshaft housing bolts and remove assembly by pulling straight up.

Use J 36011 or equivalent to remove connector assembly(s) if stuck to the spark plugs.

Use tool by first twisting then pulling up on connector assembly.

4. Electrical connection from oil pressure switch.
5. Transaxle fluid level indicator tube assembly from exhaust camshaft cover and position aside. 
6. Exhaust camshaft cover and gasket.
7. Disconnect timing chain housing but do not remove from the vehicle. Refer to Timing Components. See: Timing Components
