Camshaft Cover: Service and Repair
DOHC Intake or SOHC Camshaft Housing

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then disconnect ignition coil and module electrical connectors.

2.

Remove four bolts attaching ignition coil and module assembly to camshaft housings, then pull upward on assembly to remove, Figs 18 and 19. If
connectors are stuck to spark plugs, use spark plug connector remover J-36011 to remove.

3.

Disconnect power steering idle speed switch electrical connector.

4.

Remove power steering pump and position aside with hoses attached.

5.

Using power steering pulley J-36014 and J-29785-A, remove power steering pump drive pulley from camshaft.

6.

Remove oil/air separator assembly.

7.

Disconnect vacuum line from fuel pressure regulator, then disconnect injector wiring harness.
