1990 CUTLASS SUPREME 4 DOOR STYLES
Owners of some 1990 Cutlass Supreme 4 door (69 style) may comment on white powder type substance on the rubber seal of the Center High Mounted
Stop Light. The substance is a bleed-out of sulphur used in the processing of the rubber. To eliminate this bleed-out, remove the CHMSL shade and
clean the rubber seal with "Fantastic" (or equivalent) cleaner and a scrub brush. Also, clean inside of back glass and lamp lens thoroughly. After rubber
seal is completely dry and clean, dress rubber seal with a rubber/vinyl sealer, such as Armor-All Protectant available from GMSPO, part numbers:
1052918 - 8 oz. size
1052919 - 16 oz. size
1059920 - 1 gal. size
Other sealers are Wesley Color Magic, 3M Prep Team Natural Glass Vinyl/Rubber Dressing # 05943.
Apply dressing following manufacturers instructions.
Reinstall shade and seal assembly.
IMPORTANT:
If a new CHMSL cover/shade is required, clean and seal new parts from GMSPO before installing on vehicle.
A new cover/shade assembly will be released in the near future and a new part number assigned.
