Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left sound insulator.
2. Remove the left carpet retainer.
3. Position the carpet and sound deadener aside.
4. Disconnect the PCM electrical connections.
5. Remove the PCM retaining bracket door.
6. Remove the PCM by sliding the PCM out.
7. Remove the PCM bracket.
8. Remove the parking brake lever nuts (5).
9. Remove the parking brake lever assembly (1).
10. Disconnect the electrical connection from the lever assembly.
11. Remove the parking brake cable (3) from the lever attachment point (2).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: Parking brake adjustment is not necessary. This is a self adjusting system and damage may result from attempting to adjust or modify
this system in any way. It may be necessary to adjust the rear brakes to obtain the proper tension in the system.
1. Connect the electrical connection to the lever assembly (1).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the brake lever assembly.

Tighten the parking brake lever nuts (5) to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the PCM bracket.
4. Install the PCM by sliding the PCM in.
5. Connect the PCM electrical connections.
6. Position the left carpet and sound deadener.
7. Install the carpet retainer.
