Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

Always consult a parts catalog. The electric cooling fan motors, fans, shrouds and brackets may be available separately. 

REMOVAL PROCEDURE 

CAUTION:  To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always be
replaced.

CAUTION:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the four fan bolts.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the fan from the shroud.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the fan.
2. Install the fan bolts.
3. Connect the electrical connector.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten the bolt to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
