Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Tools Required

J 39914 Drive Belt Tension Wrench

CAUTION:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner. Use the J 39914.

3. Remove the drive belt from the generator pulley.
4. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
5. Remove the right tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
6. Remove the right splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement in Bumpers.
