Oil Pump Drive Shaft: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement.
2. Remove the oil pump drive bolt.
3. Remove the oil pump drive clamp.
4. Remove the oil pump drive.
5. Remove the oil pump drive seal.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the oil pump drive sea]. Coat the seal or bore in the engine block with engine oil.
2. Install the oil pump drive. Coat the drive gear on the drive with prelube GM P/N 1052365 for a full 360°.
3. Install the oil pump drive clamp.
4. Install the oil pump drive bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 36 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement.
