Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair

FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS AND/OR HUB

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Tools Required

J 28733-A Front Hub Spindle Remover

1. Remove the wheel drive axle.
2. Remove the brake caliper bolts, and the support caliper.
3. Remove the brake rotor.

4. Remove the hub and bearing assembly bolts (5).
5. Remove the hub and bearing assembly (1) from the steering knuckle (2).
6. Remove the hub and bearing (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the hub and bearing assembly (1) to the steering knuckle (2). 
2. Install the hub and bearing assembly bolts (5). 

Tighten 
-

Tighten the hub and bearing assembly bolts to 95 N.m (70 lb ft).

3. Install the brake rotor.
4. Install the brake caliper and bolts.
5. Install the new hub and bearing (1) into the steering knuckle (2).
6. Install the wheel drive axle.
7. Check the front wheel alignment.
