Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Strut and Knuckle Scribing (Modification)

1. Prior to performing a camber adjustment, elongate the lower strut-to-knuckle hole on the strut in order to remove the knuckle.
2. Paint the filed area with a rust preventative paint.
3. You can perform these strut modifications on or off the vehicle.
4. If the strut is on the vehicle, disconnect the i strut from the knuckle (3).

5. If the strut is off the vehicle, place the strut in a vise (1).
6. File the lower hole until the outer flange slot matches the inner flange slot (2).
7. Reconnect the strut to the knuckle and check the wheel alignment.
8. Adjust the camber if necessary. Refer to Front Camber Adjustment.
