Shift Solenoid: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Remove the transmission case side cover.
3. Remove the retainer clip (2) from the specified solenoid using a small screwdriver.
4. A shift solenoid (3) has one O-ring. The pressure control solenoid (4) and the TCC solenoid (5) have 2 O-rings. Remove the solenoid and O-ring
or O-rings from the transmission.
IMPORTANT: Inspect the O-rings and solenoids for any damage.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the solenoid (3,5) and O-ring or O-rings
2. Install the retainer clip (2) holding the solenoid in the valve body.
3. Install the transmission case side cover.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Fill transmission with fluid to the proper level.
